It downloads a precompiled .deb binary and extracts it. There is also no visible GPG signature verification of the .deb. package... Downloading it is at your own risk, because you basically have to trust upstream .deb blindly. There is also no way to make security audits for the same reason.

Can someone create element-desktop-bin from the Debian package? I have modified this package and run 1.11.16 now. I can no longer build community/element-desktop.

Seems like the install path has changed. It's /opt/Element now instead of /opt/Element-Nightly
