Could you please add electron-cash to Conflicts, Provides, and Replaces?
@MindfulConsumer I just tried to build it with a fresh Arch install and it builds fine for me. I'm not sure why this step would involve symlinks, let alone too many levels of them. Is your /tmp somehow symlinked? Anything changed in your makepkg.conf?

@currantpigeonsty sure, that is a very good idea. i can't do it today though because i am currently running a kernel bisection on my development laptop. i can add you as a co-maintainer if you want.
