@bioquark tried to delete the cache but no go. In desperation I even tried the snap package but it didn’t work either so in the end I coughed up the $4 and got the latest Cider client. It works great for me som was well worth the bucks. Strange since I am dead sure I had this package running before I had to reinstall my machine the other day. I’m running ML4W on top of a clean Arch install so Hyprland desktop.
@g0rillanajs did you clear the cache at /home/$USER/.config/Apple Music? You can just delete the folder "Apple Music" and then log back in. That fixed it for me.
Sorry @bioquark noob question but how do you do this? The strange thing is that before I log in I can play "sample" music but as soon as I log in I receive the error about needing to update browser. I tried to build it from upstream but same thing, not logged in np but as soon as I log in I get the error for updating webbrowser
I contacted the app maintainer for a clean release in 2.2.0. I would update the pkgbuild accordingly when it comes out.
Hi, I also had the same problem. For me what helped was installing the 2.2.0 version from upstream, then deleting the cache and logging back in.
I checked the logs and it looks like this build is based on Chromium version 120.0.6099.291, but the current version is 138.0.7156.0. Maybe that’s where the issue is coming from?
It still doesn’t work. The message saying I need to update my browser pops up both in the regular Apple Music and in the beta version.
Hello, I just rebuilt and tested again, I don't have the error message in question (tested in a clean-chroot). Are you sure that the error is still there and was not temporary?
Hi, I have the same problem. Browser update needed error, even when using the "use beta site" option. It started 2 or 3 days ago. Looking forward to a fix, your app is a charm. Only real alternative to apple music on linux

Locks up with high system load when playing a song on CachyOS. I haven't looked into it. I just wanted to share in case others have this issue.
