i spent a little time polishing up cascade recently: j3s.sh/cascade cascade gives you service discovery without leaders - gossip-based & eventual consistency. much faster & more scalable than consul. it's also api-compatible w/ consul, so you can still use consul-template, etc https://j3s.sh/cascade
