诸子云,家猫或可启人类新疗癌之途

诸贤言,猫科癌症之遗传已非迷津,继完成对家猫肿瘤之研习,其规模为历来之最巨者。

此研习,载于Science者,首度大规模探究猫科癌症之遗传图谱也。学者以为,此发现或可增进对动物及人类癌症之认知,复为未来猫科癌症研究立一宝贵之开放资源。

癌症乃猫科疾病与死亡之首要因由,然科学家素来于驱动此疾之遗传变化知之甚少。

"家猫虽为寻常宠物,然其癌症之遗传,鲜为人知,"曰格致博士伍德,圭尔夫大学病理生物学教授,并为本研究共同首席作者,"未尝有闻。"

猫肿瘤与人类癌症,遗传相似甚矣。

研者析近五百家猫之肿瘤样本,此猫散布于五国。众察癌症发生之基因突变,得见人类与犬类癌症所见之癌驱动基因甚众。

其中要得者,乃猫类侵略性乳腺癌症相关之突变。

猫乳腺肿瘤中,最常发生变异的基因为FBXW7,研究中所观察的肿瘤中,超过半数出现此基因突变。

人患乳岩,FBXW7之变,与恶候相系,与研者所察于猫者甚合。

科学家亦察得猫科与人类之癌,其病及血、骨、肺、肤、肠胃、中枢神经,皆有相似。

盖猫常与主人共处一环境,故研究者以为,或有癌症之患,源乎环境之共通也。

"斯研究可助吾等洞悉猫与人类患癌之由,明周遭世界如何影响癌患之机,或可觅新途以防与疗之。"伍氏言。

化疗新发现,冀未来疗治之望

研者尤感振奋,盖某化疗之药,于携突变FBXW7基因之猫乳腺肿瘤,似效更彰。

虽实验结果仅见于组织样本,然科学家言,此发现或可指明动物与人患乳腺癌之新疗方。

伯尔尼大学合著者施文·罗滕伯格博士曰:“得此众多捐赠组织,吾等得以评估药物对不同肿瘤之反应,此乃前所未有之规模。”

韦尔科姆·桑格研究所共同首作者贝利·弗朗西斯言,此研或可惠及犬类。

"智识与数据流于异科,吾辈皆可受益。"

"一医之道"融汇人畜康健。

此国际之项目,会聚了来自Wellcome Sanger Institute(威利康·塞哲林研究所)、Guelph University(圭尔夫大学)之Ontario Veterinary College(安大略兽医学院)、Bern University(伯尔尼大学)及数所他院之研究者。

科学家们测序于兽医先前为诊疗之目的所采集之组织样本。

其说若此,盖今用以治人之方,终或可试于猫也。同时,由猫患癌之试,所获之知,或可导将来治人之临床研究。

此协同之策,名曰"一医之道",其旨在于促兽医与医者之识相易,以臻物种康健之效。

韦登博士,威康桑格研究所资深研究员,言此研究为未来猫科癌症治疗之进步开启了门径。

"吾辈今可始行精进,迈向精准猫科肿瘤学,以追及犬科癌症之诊疗选择,终有一日,亦及于人。"

是研究得EveryCat Health Foundation(CVS Group)、Wellcome、加拿大自然科学与工程研究委员会及瑞士国家科学基金会之助。
