Iceman, Habibti, and Maid of Honour just made history

Earlier this month, Drake turned a long-teased album drop into a three-album bonanza, releasing Iceman, Habibti, and Maid of Honour at once on May 15. Now, he has become the first artist to hold the No. 1, 2, and 3 spots on the Billboard 200 chart in the same week since it began publishing on a consistent schedule in 1956.
That said, the feat does arrive on the back of a technicality. In 2009, Michael Jackson—whose iconic bejeweled glove Drake pays homage to on his Iceman cover—should have occupied the top three spots on the Billboard 200 after his death. However, due to a rule at the time that prohibited albums released more than 18 months ago from factoring into the weekly charts, Jackson’s sweep was not counted.
Iceman, Habibti, and Maid of Honour marked Drake’s first new solo albums since 2023’s For All the Dogs. (Crucially, it’s also his first LP drop since the Kendrick Lamar beef that became so ubiquitous it reached the Super Bowl LIX halftime show and led Drake to sue his own label, UMG, a legal dispute he references multiple times across the new trilogy. The suit was eventually dismissed.) He also released a joint album with longtime collaborator and fellow Canadian PartyNextDoor, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, in 2025.
