Son Lux, the experimental indie-rock trio of Ryan Lott, Rafiq Bhatia, and Ian Chang, are returning in full force. In addition to a world tour, they’ve revealed the details behind their upcoming album, Out Into, which arrives September 18 via This Is Meru/City Slang. Check out the lead single “Endlessly” below, along with a full run of live dates.

“Endlessly” was originally commissioned by the Bluecoats, an Ohio-based marching ensemble, until Son Lux realized the song was a better fit for the new record’s themes of paradoxes and refined spontaneity. “We’re going places we’ve never gone before in terms of energy, attitude, color,” Lott said of Out Into. “And it all comes from having reverence for those initial sparks, for treating the voice memo version of the idea as the most sacred iteration.”

Son Lux’s previous project was a trio of albums—Tomorrows 1, Tomorrows 2, and Tomorrows 3— released at the height of the pandemic. Soon after, they began working on original scores for 2022’s Everything Everywhere All at Once—which earned them an Oscar nomination—and 2025’s Thunderbolts*.
