Jelly Roll‘s daughter, Bailee Ann, has spoken out about his divorce from her stepmom, Bunnie Xo, with the teenager saying she’s “disgusted” by the public’s interest in the split.
In a TikTok Story Tuesday (June 16), Bailee shared a selfie she’d snapped in bed and wrote, “Oh & one more thing.”
“I am disgusted at how invested everyone is in a very clearly private family matter,” she continued. “It’s fkn crazy.”
“Go on somewhere yall,” Bailee added. “Worry bout your house- not mine. I’m not speaking on it – yet.”
The country star — who is also the father of a younger son named Noah from another previous relationship — filed for divorce from the Dumb Blonde podcaster on May 18, after nearly 10 years of marriage. The public, however, didn’t find out about it until one day before Bailee’s post, with TMZ breaking the story shortly before Billboard confirmed via online court records.
After meeting Jelly in 2015 and marrying him the following year, Bunnie became one of Bailee’s guardians and shares primary custody of her with the Grammy winner. Jelly has previously spoken about how crucial his now estranged wife was in helping him rebuild a relationship with Bailee after he’d spent years in and out of jail, telling Billboard in 2023: “I would have never got custody of my daughter without her. I wouldn’t have had the stability or the money.”
In December, Bailee threw her dad and stepmom a surprise prom. “She crowned us King and Queen, and we danced and sang like teenagers who finally got their moment,” Bunnie wrote on social media after the sweet gesture. “Time is the most precious thing we own. Spend it on your people. The memories you make with them will outlive everything else.”
In early May — about two weeks before Jelly would file for divorce — he and Bunnie worked together to send Bailee off to her own prom.
“At the end of the day,” Bailee wrote in a follow-up statement shared on TikTo Wednesday morning (June 17) after her initial post, “no matter what, we are all humans with feelings and that is worthy of compassion … I will never forget those of you that have shown me empathy when I’m seeing a lot of hate.”
“And to everyone else, I hope humanity can evolve to a place where kindness comes first,” Bailee added. “I understand & respect opinions and that a public profile is a public profile, but that doesn’t have to mean we throw way our human decency. I love ALL of you.”
