Alejandro Fernández will return to the iconic Glorieta de la Minerva, a renowned landmark in his hometown of Guadalajara, for the first time in nearly two decades to headline “The Biggest Serenade in the World,” the name he’s given to the massive free concert he’ll perform on Thursday (June 25) in the western Mexican city.

But the regional Mexican music superstar won’t be alone for this event, which is part of the FIFA Fan Fest for the 2026 World Cup. The singer has invited his children, Alex and Camila Fernández, as well as his colleagues Julión Álvarez and Alfredo Olivas. He made the announcement in a video posted on his social media on Tuesday (June 24).

“My heart is racing,” Fernández told the press on Tuesday in Guadalajara. “I’m very nervous because 19 years ago I had the chance to perform at this iconic place, La Minerva, a landmark for the people of Guadalajara to celebrate anything.”

“El Potrillo,” as the heir to the Fernández dynasty is known, celebrated the fact that his concert will take place in a soccer-themed atmosphere. “The day before (June 24), Mexico plays, and the day after (June 26), Spain plays. Hopefully, Mexico wins — I have faith that they will,” added the son of legendary ranchera singer Vicente Fernández.

Fernández’s performance will come 15 days after his participation in the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup at Estadio Ciudad de México (formerly Estadio Azteca, now Estadio Banorte) on June 11, where he delivered a masterful rendition of the Mexican national anthem.

The artist invited his children and colleagues to join him at La Minerva through a message on social media, which was met with responses from the guests.

“We’re all set, man, confirmed. See you there, God willing. On June 25, we’ll be waiting for you all at La Minerva. See you there,” Álvarez said in a short video on Instagram, confirming his participation in the event, which is part of the entertainment activities for the 2026 World Cup Fan Fest.

“Let’s do this! See you at the biggest serenade in the whole world this June 25 at La Minerva, Guadalajara,” wrote Camila Fernández in an Instagram post accompanied by a video also confirming her participation. “We have a date at 9 PM. I’m so excited! I’ve been wanting to sing for you all, and look at the amazing way we’ll get to see each other!”

“The Biggest Serenade in the World” will arrive at the Glorieta de La Minerva one week after the Mexican rock band Maná performed a concert there, drawing around 170,000 people, according to figures from the Jalisco government. That event was also part of the FIFA Fan Fest activities organized in Guadalajara.
