Michael Jackson notches three appearances on May 2026’s edition of the Top Gabb Music Songs chart following the release of the biopic Michael.
Billboard has partnered with Gabb Wireless, a phone company for kids and teens, to present a monthly chart, which launched in October 2024, tracking on-demand streams via its Gabb Music platform. Gabb Music offers a vast catalog of songs, all of which are selected by the Gabb team to include only kid- and teen-appropriate content. Gabb Music streams are not currently factored into any other Billboard charts.
Following the film’s April 24 premiere, Michael has spurred significant gains for Jackson’s catalog across the Billboard charts, and Top Gabb Music Songs is no different. For the May 2026 survey, “Billie Jean” bows at No. 3 to lead the trio, followed by “Beat It” at No. 7 and “Smooth Criminal” at No. 22.”

“Billie Jean” returned to the weekly Billboard Hot 100 following Jackson’s catalog’s resurgence, rising as high so far as No. 15 on the May 23. “Beat It,” meanwhile, scored a best of No. 29 in its second run. Both songs are among Jackson’s 13 solo No. 1s on the survey, both occurring in 1983.
Top Gabb Music Songs’ No. 1 spot changes as well for May 2026, though it’s not a newcomer to the summit. Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” returns to No. 1 for the first time since the February 2026 tally for a fifth month overall atop the list, taking over for Josiah Queen’s “Demons,” which drops to No. 2 after leading for March and April.
Speaking of Warren, he also possesses the top non-Jackson debut of the month: “Fine Place to Die,” which bows at No. 14. The tune began at No. 87 on the Hot 100 dated May 16, its only week on the ranking so far.
Forrest Frank’s “Okay!” is the month’s other debut (No. 25), while Glass Animals’ “Heat Waves” returns at No. 21, its first appearance since the June 2025 tally.
