Charli xcx and Madonna enjoyed some “Talk Talk” in Paris on Tuesday (June 23). The pair of pop stars was seated next to one another at the Saint Laurent menswear spring/summer 2027 fashion show.
Footage emerged of Charli and Madonna smoking and chatting with other stars in attendance supporting the French fashion house, such as actor Connor Storrie and actress Debi Mazar.
Everything seemed cool between the two, as various clips showed them posing for photos and talking before the show got going.
They both rocked lacy red dresses, although Madonna’s was a darker shade. The Queen of Pop — whose highly anticipated Confessions II arrives July 3 — sported inside, while Charli ditched her signature shades. Madonna went with pink heels and Charli had on more maroon-brownish stiletto heels.
Back in May, many fans speculated that Madonna and Charli were at odds when the iconic pop superstar appeared to respond to the Brat singer declaring that “the dance floor is dead” on her “Rock Music” single.
“If your dance floor feels dead. Maybe you’re playing the wrong music,” Madonna cryptically posted on Instagram.
Charli has gushed about Madonna in the past. While promoting The Moment earlier this year, Charli praised Madonna’s 1991 Truth or Dare tour documentary. “I love Truth or Dare, Madonna. Great choreo in that, also she’s just the one,” she said.
On the music side, Charli xcx is gearing up for the release of her album Music, Fashion, Film, which is set to arrive on July 24.
The British pop star opened up to Rolling Stone for her cover story published June 18 about her struggles with her mental health, which she said is in the “worst place” of her entire life.
“I don’t really look [at social media] as much anymore. It’s just better for my brain. I know people probably won’t believe me, because I am inherently, at least in the past, a very online artist,” Charli said. “But I recently have been really struggling with my mental health to the point where, if I’m being real, I’m in the worst place mentally that I’ve been in my life.”
