Following up Monday’s teasing announcement, Passion Paris and ADN have confirmed they have entered into co-production on an animated series adaptation of the globally acclaimed webtoon “Hero Killer,” to be helmed by “Moonlit Bamboo Forest” director David Pagaille.

The announcement was made today at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, and joins a strong line-up of Passion Pictures projects presented at this year’s edition.

Based on the hit action-fantasy webtoon published by Jaedam Media and created by writer Kkulbeol and illustrator Beolkkul, “Hero Killer” is one of the most successful action titles on Naver Webtoon, the largest South Korean digital comic and webtoon platform.

Available in 10 languages worldwide and spanning more than 250 published episodes, “Hero Killer” has indeed captivated millions, and the teams are setting up to bring the scale, intensity and emotion of the original material to the screen for a global audience.

To mark the announcement, the production unveiled a brand new, exclusive illustration from original creators Kkulbeol and Beolkkul and its first official teaser visual and launched the project’s official online channels, including the website http://www.herokiller-anime.com and official Instagram and X accounts.
