Korea’s Showbox Teams With ReelShort to Co-Produce Microd...

Showbox, the Korean studio behind theatrical blockbusters including “Exhuma” and the Netflix series “A Killer Paradox,” has signed a co-production deal with ReelShort to develop original microdramas for the platform’s more than 70 million monthly active users worldwide.

Under the agreement, Showbox will initially co-produce microdramas based on ReelShort’s existing intellectual properties, with the collaboration set to expand into original titles developed by Showbox. All content will be distributed exclusively on ReelShort. The first titles to emerge from the deal are “Tell Me Not to Love You,” “My Secret Lover Is His Brother,” and “Queen Never Cry.”

“By combining ReelShort’s global platform competitiveness with Showbox’s content development and production capabilities, which have been at the forefront of K-content, we will deliver high-quality short-form dramas and use them as a foundation to expand into a wider range of genres and formats,” Showbox said in a statement. “We will use this collaboration as an opportunity to create new success stories in the global market and further strengthen our content competitiveness.”

Showbox entered the short-form drama space in December 2025, when it began production on “Bridal Shower: The Missing Bride” and “The Fallen Idol Is Possessed!” The ReelShort partnership represents a significant step-up in the studio’s ambitions in the format.

Founded in 2022 by Crazy Maple Studio, ReelShort operates across more than 100 countries. Showbox’s theatrical track record includes “Assassination” (2015), “A Taxi Driver” (2017), and “Exhuma” (2024), as well as the 2026 release “The King’s Warden.” The studio also formed a strategic partnership last year with M Studio, one of Thailand’s leading film production and distribution companies.
