‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’ Set to Screen at Sphere Las V...

Let’s do the Time Warp… in Las Vegas.

“The Rocky Horror Picture Show” is coming to the Sphere in Las Vegas. The new production is set for sometime in 2027 and joins the venue’s initial slate of Darren Aronofsky’s sci-fi doc “Postcard From Earth” and “The Wizard of Oz.”

Sphere Studios will use its signature immersive technology to enhance the original 1975 film, a cult classic famous for its rowdy midnight showings and audience participation. Based on the beloved stage musical, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” follows a newly engaged couple (Barry Bostwick and Susan Sarandon) who seek help from the gender-bending mad scientist Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry) when their car breaks down. Richard O’Brien, who wrote the show’s music, book and lyrics, also adapted the movie’s screenplay with director Jim Sharman.

“Through Sphere Studios, we are building a slate of original experiences that push the boundaries of technology and storytelling for this new medium, while always keeping the audience at the center of the experience,” said Jim Dolan, Sphere Entertainment’s executive chairman and CEO. “Since ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ premiered in 1975, it redefined audience participation and became a cultural phenomenon. With Sphere, we have the opportunity to take that spirit of immersion to an entirely new level.”

Sphere Entertainment also announced that “The Wizard of Oz,” the venue’s reimagining of the 1939 classic, crossed a notable box office milestone. The project, which took two years and cost $100 million to develop, has generated over $400 million, with more than 3 million tickets sold since opening on Aug. 28, 2025.
