A concertgoer fell to his death during a Goose concert on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden, according to CBS News.

Police told the outlet that a 51-year-old man fell from MSG’s 300 level and suffered fatal injuries just before 10 p.m. Authorities found the man unconscious and unresponsive. He was later pronounced dead at Bellevue Hospital.

Reps for Madison Square Garden did not immediately respond to Variety‘s request for comment.

Goose released a statement on its Instagram following the incident, “We are deeply saddened and heartbroken to learn of the tragic event that occurred at tonight’s show. We extend our deepest sympathy to everyone affected. Thank you to the emergency personnel and venue staff who stepped in with care and support.”

Goose, which consists of members Rick Mitarotonda, Peter Anspach, Trevor Weekz and Cotter Ellis, is an East Coast jam band that formed in 2014 out of Wilton, Conn. They are scheduled to continue their “Big Tour” Sunday night at SummerStage in Central Park. The band’s upcoming dates include June 23 and June 24 in Charleston, S.C., June 26 and June 27 in Raleigh, N.C., and June 28 in Columbia Md.

The California Post reported that Goose finished its 16-track set list despite the accident and finished the concert just before midnight.

This isn’t the first time there has been a fatal fall at a New York City concert. A man in his 40s fell to his death from the upper-tier balcony at Citi Field during the intermission of a 2021 Dead & Company show. Police said at the time, “He attempted a body flip, fell, and landed on the balcony below.”
