Betches Sets First Scripted Long-Form Comedy Series, ‘Sis...

Betches, the entertainment company targeting female millennial and Gen Z audiences, is gearing up to release its first-ever original scripted comedy series as part of its expanded video content slate.

“Sisters,” which will be released this summer, is based on Betches’ viral sketch series of the same name. Episodes will run 10-15 minutes with three episodes dropping to start (and more to come later). It’s a new format for Betches, which has until now specialized in short-form video segments.

Based in New York, Betches says it generates more than 540 million monthly views across all channels, reaching nearly half of all women across the U.S. This year, Betches is celebrating its 15th birthday — marking a milestone for what co-founder and CEO Aleen Dreksler calls the “unapologetic” voice for women who “grew up on the internet.”

“When my co-founders and I started Betches 15 years ago, we simply craved a place where young women could laugh, figure themselves out and find real community,” Dreksler said. “Today, we connect with nearly half the women in the U.S., evolving from a digital women’s media brand into a global cinematic universe with deep comedic roots. I’m so proud of our expanded slate, our brilliant and hilarious creators, and I look forward to continuing to lead the charge in social-first entertainment.”

“Sisters,” a comedy series “that proves you never outgrow your family,” was developed by and stars homegrown Betches comedy stars Tess Tregellas and Madeline Mahoney. The long-form show’s debut season will be distributed across Betches’ Instagram, TikTok and YouTube accounts.

In addition, Betches has tapped designer, fashion guru, and television personality Tan France for the return of franchise “Style Therapy,” which lets fashion lovers “lie back on the metaphorical couch and unpack their fashion struggles.” Episodes of “Style Therapy” running 1.5 to 2 minutes each.

Also coming this summer is “Benched,” a new original social show under the Betches Sports vertical, hosted by digital sports creator Lucy Rohden. Athletes will answer a series of questions that challenge them to drop their guard and “bring their most authentic, unfiltered selves to the table.” “Benched” will be distributed on Betches Sports’ Instagram and TikTok, as well as YouTube Shorts. It will run 12 episodes, primarily short-form social video (around 60 seconds); full interviews around 5 minutes in length also will be posted on YouTube.

Additionally, Betches will continue to expand on its decade-long collaborative relationship with Jared Freid, comedian, author and podcast host.

Betches (formerly known as Betches Media) was acquired in 2023 by U.K.-based LBG Media, owner of viral-content brand LADbible. Betches is represented by CAA.
