Abstract:Using the homotopy theory of polynomial monads developed by Batanin and Berger and extended to the $2$-categorical context by Weber, we prove the cofinality of a particular morphism of polynomial $2$-monads. We apply our result to give a new proof of the delooping of derived mapping spaces of infinitesimal bimodules due to Ducoulombier and Turchin.
