























Abstract:For nearly a century, the transition state has been thought to lack an exact quantum counterpart: recrossing-free, one-way flux seems to require simultaneous knowledge of position and momentum. We show that this obstruction is illusory. The exact quantum flow contains a transition-state geometry: stable and unstable manifolds meeting in a unique bounded quantum transition-state trajectory that anchors a dividing surface carrying one-way quantum probability flux. The geometric framework of classical reaction dynamics survives in exact quantum mechanics, in a fundamentally quantum form.
