Abstract:This paper presents a low-cost home automation system implemented in a municipal swimming pool to address various challenges, including security concerns, air quality control, gas leakage detection, energy consumption reduction, and temperature and humidity control on the pool deck. The system utilises Arduino microcontrollers with sensors and actuators, enabling real-time data collection and analysis. The project is divided into two phases: hardware assembly and data analysis. In the hardware assembly phase, the Arduino sends data to a web Application Programming Interface (API) and stores it in a time-series database, with results presented in an Android application. The data analysis phase involves statistical exploration using libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib. The proposed system aims to enhance decision-making based on collected and analysed data.
