If you manage a server, listen in! Your Boosting strategy's about to get a huge upgrade. Boosting has always been a great way for your community to come together and unlock features that make your server truly special. And today, we're bringing you new ways to customize your server with additional perks that delight members, along with a completely new approach that lets you spend available Boosts on these additional server perks - no level required.

We’re releasing two new unlockable perks for servers: Enhanced Role Styles and Server Tags. 

• Enhanced Role Styles (3 Boosts) let you make certain roles stand out with animated, vibrant gradients — perfect for adding extra flair to your server’s hierarchy.
• Server Tags (3 Boosts) give your members a way to represent your server, everywhere on Discord.

And how will you unlock ’em? You might already have the key. Starting now, you’ll be able to use aallll those server Boosts contributed by your community in two ways: to level up your server OR to unlock specific features directly — no need to wait for the next level. That means you can use extra Boosts to get new perks like Enhanced Role Styles and Server Tags. If your server already has Boosts, you might already have everything you need to unlock them. If your server needs a few extra Boosts to unlock them, you can purchase them or rally your community around the new perks and get them excited to contribute more Boosts to your server.

So how do you unlock these slick new perks, and what makes them game-changers for your server? Let's dive in!

Note: Server Tags and Enhanced Role Styles each require 3 Server Boosts to enable — 6 Boosts total if you want to unlock both. Once enabled, the perks will remain active as long as your server continues to allocate the required number of Boosts to them.

Unlocking These New Server Perks with Boosts

Think of unlocking these new Boosting perks like a skill tree in a video game. In addition to leveling up along the existing linear path, which includes a wide range of bundled perks, you now have the option to branch out and choose specific enhancements (or perks, skills, however you wanna think of ‘em) that match your community's needs. 

These additional perks are separate from your server’s Boost Level — so with enough Boosts, you’ll keep all your existing level-based perks and unlock new customizations using any extra Boosts.

If you’re an admin, getting these perks for your community is simple:

• Head to the new Server Boost tab above the channel list
  
  • Double-check your available Boosts! You'll need 3 for each perk.
• Choose either Server Tags or Enhanced Role Styles
• Click "Enable Perk" and allocate the required Boosts to unlock the perk.
• Once enabled, click “Configure” to go directly to the settings page for that perk.
• Now the hardest part: customize away, and set things juuust right!

These new perks give servers of all sizes more flexibility. Small but growing servers now have more ways to feel distinct without needing to hit higher levels. Mid-size and established communities can make better use of their extra Boosts. And those BIG Level 3 servers? You can easily grab some new features that you and your members will truly appreciate.

And remember — these perks are independent of your server’s Boost Level. No specific level is required to unlock them. With enough Boosts, you’ll keep all your current level-based perks and use your extra Boosts to access these new perks.

Give Your Roles an Energizing Glow with Enhanced Role Styles

Available for 3 Boosts, Enhanced Role Styles make your server's roles truly stand out with eye-catching gradient and holographic styles that go beyond the standard solid colors.

Highlight the importance of your mod team with a striking red-to-purple gradient that makes them instantly recognizable, or reward your most active community contributors by setting them up with a glowing blurple-to-blue hue that’s worthy of a trophy. 

These new role color options help strengthen your server's personality and help it stand out from the moment someone new joins. Once unlocked, you can use them on as many of your roles as you’d like. Save ‘em for a special role, or go CRAZY with wild colors as far as the (mod’s) eyes can see.

Wear a Server Tag to Rep Your Server Everywhere

What’s better than repping a glowing role in your server? Repping your entire server, wherever you talk!

Also available for 3 Boosts, Server Tags let members proudly display their favorite community anywhere on Discord. Tags consist of up to four characters and a colorful, pixelized icon that appears on user profiles and directly next to their names in chats and member lists. 

Anyone outside your server can see your Server Tag if you set one on your profile. Others can also view a small profile of your server from the Server Tag if your server’s admins enable it. AND, your admins can even let others apply to join your server directly from your Server Tag if member applications are turned on. From curiosity to community!

But…. what should your tag even BE? Try one based on your server’s theme, such as "FPS", "RPG", and “PVP." Or, shorten a word that matches the server’s personality, such as “CUTE,” “LOUD,” or just… “HUH.” If you play any sort of team-based online multiplayer game with its own guild system, you’ve likely got some ideas already stirring in your mind. (Looking at you, classic Halo players.)
