This smartwatch packs a battery that could shame every major smartwatch

TL;DR

  • HONOR has launched the HONOR Watch 6 smartwatch.
  • The watch can apparently last up to 35 days thanks to its 980mAh battery.
  • The HONOR Watch 6 has a recommended price of ~$333 and a promotional price of ~$226.

HONOR launched the HONOR Watch 5 in 2024, but the company skipped a sequel last year and launched the HONOR Watch 5 Ultra instead. Now, the manufacturer is back with the HONOR Watch 6.

HONOR’s latest watch stands out thanks to its claimed battery life. The company says you can expect up to 35 days of juice via the 980mAh battery. This is a huge upgrade over the Ultra model, which offers a claimed 15 days of juice via its 480mAh battery. The battery is also slightly larger than the Xiaomi Watch 5‘s 930mAh cell. This means the HONOR Watch 6 might have the largest battery of any major smartwatch on the market.

The manufacturer didn’t clarify which OS is used on the Watch 6, though. We’re guessing HONOR is following in the Watch 5 Ultra’s footsteps by using its proprietary MagicOS platform (not to be confused with the MagicOS Android skin) in lieu of Wear OS. This choice of lightweight software would at least partially explain the impressive endurance.

Nevertheless, the HONOR Watch 6 has plenty of baked-in features. Expect support for over 120 sports modes, an AI running coach, dual-frequency GPS, Video Watch Face functionality akin to live wallpapers, dual-phone pairing, an AI-powered Recorder app, and wrist-based gestures for hands-free control. The watch also tracks heart rate, blood oxygen levels, sleep cycles, stress levels, and body energy.

As for the actual design itself, the new watch is available in Shadow Black and Twilight Brown color schemes. Both models have a metal frame, while the former has an aluminum front housing and the latter has a steel front housing. The black variant has a fluoroelastomer strap, and the brown model has a brown leather strap.

The watch also has a circular 1.46-inch OLED screen, with wet-hand touch capabilities and a claimed peak brightness of 3,000 nits. Of course, peak brightness is largely a gimmick, but HONOR hasn’t clarified other brightness-related details. Other notable details include 4GB of on-board storage, an IP69 rating, 5ATM water resistance, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC (depending on the region).

Keen on the HONOR Watch 6? The wearable is available now at a recommended price of £249.99 (~$333) in the UK, but HONOR is selling the watch for £169.99 (~$226) during its first month of availability. The company is also offering a free pair of HONOR Choice Earbuds Clip earphones during this initial sales period.
