TL;DR
Smartwatch watch faces are great for matching your outfit or tracking your daily steps, but they rarely ever provide any utility for live events. That changes today. Following up on a partnership teased back at CES, Facer and Citizen have officially launched “Kick It” — a free, specialized Wear OS watch face designed for soccer fans tracking this year’s FIFA World Cup.

What sets Kick It apart from the sea of generic sports-centric watch faces is its integration with Citizen’s Riiiver platform. Instead of just slapping a static team flag on your wrist, this watch face pulls licensed, live tournament data directly onto your Wear OS watch screen, including:
Once you select your team, the watch face automatically shifts its color palette and theme to match. From there, it displays live match information and more in real-time. It’s a great use case for glanceable data, essentially eliminating the need to constantly pull out your phone or open dedicated apps just to check the scoreline during a match.
Beyond numbers and stats, the watch face aims to capture the stadium’s energy. Using Facer’s Face Chime feature, the watch face will play a roaring crowd singing the iconic “Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole” chant at the top of every hour, letting fans carry a piece of the stadium atmosphere with them throughout the day.
Kick It is now available for free on Facer for smartwatches running Google Wear OS 6 or later, for users in the US, Canada, Japan, and the UK. The watch face will expand to the EU also in the near future. Follow this link to access the Kick It watch face in the Facer app on an Android phone.
