QSOE 0.1 has made its debut as a QNX-inspired, dual kernel architecture open-source operating system just targeting RISC-V.

QSOE ships with the same user-space and two kernel opttions: QSOE/N that is using the Skimmer micro-kernel that was written from scratch for this project. And then there is QSOE/L as running the seL4 micro-kernel. QSOE borrows design principles from QNX Neutrino of a small kernel with everything else in user-space, async message-passing IPC, and the resource-manager model for services.

QSOE is targeting only the RISC-V CPU architecture with the SiFive HiFive Unmatched and QEMU being the only supported targets right now. QSOE in this context is short for the Quick and Secure Operating Environment.
