























Three pro-European Romanian parties proposed European Parliament lawmaker Siegfried Muresan from the Liberal party as prime minister in what would be the second bid to form a new government and end weeks of political deadlock.
President Nicusor Dan, who has been struggling to convince the four parties that made up the ruling coalition that collapsed in May to agree on a new cabinet, will now have to choose between Muresan and Social Democratic leader Sorin Grindeanu, who was nominated by his party.
