
























Inflation expectations among UK households followed oil prices lower in June, the latest sign the Bank of England may be able to avoid hiking interest rates.
A survey by Citi and YouGov found expectations for inflation in the year ahead dropped from 4.7% in May to 3.8% this month, to levels seen in January before the Iran war. Longer-run expectations also cooled to 3.9%, down 0.1 percentage point and in line with the six-month average before the conflict.
