ICANN has published its 2025 tax return (pdf) for the tax year ending June 30, 2025.

The return shows that revenue was down about $10 million from the prior tax year, with about half of the drop attributable to lower program service revenue and the other half to lower investment income.

On a tax basis, ICANN lost about $12 million during the year.

The highest-paid employee was Sally Costerton, who served as interim president & CEO through the end of 2024. Her reportable compensation was $921,000.

General counsel John Jeffrey was the next-highest-paid at $772,000, plus $83,000 in other compensation.

Including other compensation, nine people made $500,000 or more.

ICANN paid its outside law firm, Jones Day, $3.9 million for services, according to the return. ICANN paid 136 contractors $100,000 or more.
