• Storage autoscaling is now in general availability. Additionally, you can now reduce your cluster’s amount of additional storage, as long as the new storage size is greater than or equal to the latest backup’s size plus any data growth since then and a 25% buffer.

• Now in public preview, you can now enable storage autoscaling on all Managed Database engines. To enable autoscaling, see our resizing guides for MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, OpenSearch, and Kafka.

• New managed database clusters are now automatically provisioned with default alert policies for CPU, memory, and disk utilization at a 90% threshold. These alerts notify you via email when resource usage is high, so you can investigate your application load or scale your cluster. You can modify or remove the default alerts at any time. • You can now set three new, more granular predefined roles (Admin, Read/Write, and Read-Only) to Managed MongoDB users with the DigitalOcean API on create/delete endpoints. The previous user roles (DOAdmin and DOReadOnly) remain available for backwards compatibility. For more details on the MongoDB-specific permissions for each of the new roles, see our API reference.

• Managed MongoDB now supports up to 2,000 IP addresses as trusted sources. To add trusted sources, see How to Secure MongoDB Managed Database Clusters.

• MongoDB 8.0 is now available in the control panel and via the API. To upgrade your MongoDB cluster to version 8.0, see our guide on upgrading your database cluster.

• Scalable storage for MongoDB clusters is now in general availability.

• Now in beta, when creating or resizing MongoDB clusters, you can now add additional storage to the cluster independent from the storage already included in the database cluster plan. You can use this option when you need more disk space but don’t need more CPU or RAM.

• MongoDB version 5.0 is now deprecated.

• Managed databases now supports log forwarding to OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, and Rsyslog. You can create and manage log sinks using the control panel and DigitalOcean API. For more detailed steps, see our guides for MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB, and Kafka.

• You can now reconfigure MongoDB databases via the API, which lets you edit many database engine parameters that were previously unavailable for editing. For more detailed steps, see How to Reconfigure Database Clusters.

• To improve security, DigitalOcean no longer accepts TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 connections. This includes connections to www.digitalocean.com, cloud.digitalocean.com, and api.digitalocean.com.

• MongoDB clusters now support two Dedicated Droplet types: General Purpose and Memory-Optimized. If these options are available in your region, you can select them when creating a new cluster or resizing an existing one.

• MongoDB is now available as a managed database engine in the AMS3, BLR1, FRA1, LON1, NYC1, NYC3, SFO3, SGP1, and TOR1 regions.

• Released v1.63.0 of doctl, the official DigitalOcean CLI. This release includes a number of new features:

  • The database firewall sub-commands now support apps as trusted sources
  • New monitoring alert sub-commands for creating and managing alert policies
  • The --droplet-agent flag was added to the compute droplet create sub-command to optionally disable installing the agent for the Droplet web console
