A Massachusetts man was fatally stabbed in front of a restaurant near Times Square in Manhattan Monday night, according to police and reports.

Officers responded to a 911 call reporting an assault at 132 West 43rd St., in front of Burger & Lobster Bryant Park and next door to the Stephen Sondheim Theatre around 11:30 p.m. Monday, a spokesperson for the New York Police Department’s Deputy Commissioner, Public Information said.

The 39-year-old man was found with stab wounds to the torso and back, as well as a slash wound to his face, according to police. He was transported by emergency medical services to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The 39-year-old man was from Massachusetts, The Boston Globe reported. Police said the identity of the victim is being withheld pending family notification.

Police have made no arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing, the spokesperson said.
