The suspect allegedly had made "lewd gestures" toward the victim's girlfriend leading to a physical altercation.

Boston police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who allegedly struck another man in the head with a beer bottle during an early morning altercation.

The incident took place earlier this month at about 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 9. Officers responded to the area of the Lincoln Tavern & Restaurant at that time and spoke to the victim.

“The victim stated an unknown male approached [him] and his girlfriend and began to verbally accost them,” police said in a Tuesday release.

Per police, the victim said a verbal altercation ensued and then the parties separated. However, the victim said the man “continued to make lewd gestures toward his girlfriend which caused a physical altercation to take place in which the victim was struck in the head with a beer bottle.”

The man then fled.

Police said the suspect is a white man, approximately 26-30 years old, 5-foot-9 or 5-foot-10, with dark hair and a beard.
