Violence broke out at Narragansett Town Beach, causing chaos that prompted additional, unrelated disturbances.
Three people were stabbed and two people were arrested Tuesday in unrelated disturbances at Narragansett Town Beach in Rhode Island, police said.
At about 3 p.m., the Narragansett Police Department received calls about multiple people who had been stabbed at the town beach, the department said in a press release. Police and fire crews responded and found three victims suffering from “minor stab wounds,” police said.
The victims were treated at the scene and taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, Narragansett Police Chief Kyle Rekas said. There are no suspects, and the case is under active investigation, the department said in the release, which was posted at around 6 p.m. Tuesday.

“Due to the chaos on scene with hundreds of people attempting to leave the beach at the same time, several other small disturbances broke out,” police wrote.
As a result, two people were arrested on charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and obstruction of justice, according to police.
Authorities noted that the arrests “do not appear to be related to the stabbings.” Rhode Island State Police, North Kingstown police, South Kingstown police, and the state’s Department of Environmental Management helped respond to the incident, Narragansett police said.
Police did not identify those arrested. The department asked anyone with information about the incidents to contact the Narragansett Police Detective Division at 401-789-1091 ext. 305.
Another violent incident occurred Tuesday in the parking lot of Second Beach in Middletown, R.I., NBC 10 reported. A brawl, believed to have involved high school seniors, broke out at about 2 p.m.
