A new grocery concept is heading to Boston’s Seaport.

Whole Foods Market announced Wednesday that it has signed a lease for a new Whole Foods Market Daily Shop at 111 Harbor Way, bringing the company’s smaller-format concept to one of Boston’s fastest-growing neighborhoods.

The Seaport has rapidly expanded in recent years with new residential towers, restaurants, offices, retail, and fitness studios. But access to grocery stores and other daily needs have remained a lingering question as the neighborhood continues to grow.

The new store will be part of Whole Foods’ Daily Shop concept, a smaller version of the grocery chain designed for dense urban neighborhoods and quicker shopping trips.

According to the company, the Seaport’s Daily Shop will carry a curated selection of Whole Foods favorites, including fresh produce, meat and seafood, prepared foods, bakery items, pantry staples, and grab-and-go options.

“Daily Shop is an important part of how we’re growing our physical store presence,” Christina Minardi, vice president of real estate and store development at Whole Foods Market and Amazon, said in the statement.

Whole Foods says the Daily Shop stores are smaller and more streamlined than traditional Whole Foods Market locations, using smaller footprints, intentional layouts, and focused product selections intended to make shopping faster and easier.

The company announced the Boston location alongside plans to open additional Daily Shop locations in Chicago and Philadelphia over the next two years. Whole Foods has not yet announced an opening date for the Seaport store.

Whole Foods launched the Daily Shop concept in New York City in 2024. The company currently operates eight Daily Shop locations, with additional stores planned for London and the New York City area later this year.
