The victim was transported to a local hospital with "non-life-threatening" injuries, police say.

Police are searching for a driver who struck a pedestrian in Dorchester Tuesday evening.

The adult male victim, who has not been publicly identified, told police that a car hit him while he was walking in the intersection of Blue Hill Avenue and Seaver Street, according to a statement from the Boston Police Department. 

The victim then ran to an apartment unit at 11 Kenberma Road and called 911. Officers from the Roxbury district responded at 7:56 p.m., police said. 

The victim was taken to a local hospital with injuries police described as “non-life-threatening.” 

A department spokesperson said Wednesday morning they had no updates on the victim’s condition.

The investigation remains active, police said.  

No charges have been filed at this time, according to a spokesperson for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.
