The remote terminal for Logan Airport in Framingham. Massport

Logan Airport passengers flying certain airlines can soon skip airport security lines and go straight to their gate by using a remote terminal in Framingham.

The Logan Airport Remote Terminal program, billed as the first program in the nation with service from a remote terminal directly to an airport, will open June 1 in Framingham, Massport announced on Monday.

When the pilot program kicks off, only passengers flying JetBlue and Delta Air Lines may use the service initially, but Massport says more airlines will be added to the program in the future.

In Framingham, travelers will go through TSA security and then board a dedicated secure bus and arrive at Logan beyond the security checkpoint. The cost is $9 each way and the service is offered between 5:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

“The Remote Terminal pilot program is part of Massport’s broader vision to reimagine the travel experience and make the passenger journey more seamless, connected, and efficient,” said Rich Davey, Massport CEO, in a statement. “Passengers in and around Metro West now have a new, low-stress way to reach Boston Logan. Imagine arriving at the airport having already checked in and cleared security and then being dropped off just steps from your gate. This is the kind of stress-free process we’re working to make a reality for everyone.”

Here’s how to get a ticket for the remote terminal in Framingham:

1. Visit the Massport webpage for the Logan Airport Remote Terminal program.
2. Select “purchase tickets.” On the same site, you can buy Logan Express (LEX) Framingham tickets for your return trip.
3. Select your airline.
4. Choose the number of tickets needed for travel from Framingham to Boston.
5. Enter your flight information (the system will recommend the most appropriate bus for your flight and the bus will arrive at Logan 45 minutes before your flight departs).

“JetBlue has always focused on creating a seamless experience for our customers, from the first moment of planning a trip, to after they reach their destination,” said Daniel Blake, vice president of airport experience for JetBlue, in a statement. “As Massport pilots this first-in-the-nation approach to remote check-in and security screening for customers in the region, we’re excited to try new ways to enhance our customers’ journey by thinking outside the box and collaborating with our airport partners.”

Reservations are now open on Massport’s website. There is limited seating, so Massport is encouraging travelers to book early. Tickets may be booked between 90 days and 90 minutes before departure.

A third-party contractor, The Landline Company, is managing the program with Massport and runs a similar bus service between airports in Pennsylvania and Illinois.
