The 60,000-square-foot outdoor spot opens May 8.

Mighty Squirrel Brewing Co. is trading the taproom for the lawn this summer with a sprawling beer garden at Gore Place.

According to a Facebook post, the Waltham-based brewery plans to open a 60,000-square-foot beer garden at Gore Place along the Watertown-Waltham line, debuting Friday, May 8, at 11 a.m., and running through October.

The open-air space will feature a rotating list of Mighty Squirrel beers on tap, along with hard seltzers, hard smoothies, nonalcoholic beers, and other drinks.

The brewery’s food truck will also be on-site, serving lobster rolls, clam chowder, smash burgers, wings, harvest bowls, salads, and more.

Live music is also planned throughout the summer, with performance schedules to be posted to the brewery’s online calendar.

Mighty Squirrel plans to operate rain or shine with the space including a large 80-by-30-foot tent.

The beer garden will operate:

• Thursdays: 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• Fridays through Sundays: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

It will be located on the southern side of Gore Place. Free parking is available at the main entrance 52 Gore St.), with overflow parking along Waltham Street if needed. Because Gore Place is a working farm with animals, only service dogs will be allowed at the beer garden.
