For the second day in a row, high winds have upended Boston’s FIFA Fan Festival at Government Center.
The fan fest was scheduled to open at 2 p.m. Friday but has been delayed due to high winds, according to an announcement on the official FIFA World Cup Boston 2026 X page. Officials have not yet announced a new opening time.
“Updates to follow,” the announcement read. “Thank you for your patience. Other watch parties are available across Boston.”
Thursday’s FIFA Fan Festival was canceled due to high winds and public safety concerns. The free festival runs through June 27, serving as a hub for soccer fans looking to watch livestreamed World Cup matches or performances from local artists.
