Which Cape town is the best of them all?

Cape Cod is a quintessential Massachusetts beach getaway.

Travelers enjoy pristine beaches, scenic vistas, quaint downtowns, waterfront dining, and more when visiting the Cape’s 15 towns in Barnstable County.

The Cape Cod National Seashore on the Outer Cape is comprised of nearly 40 miles of beaches, ponds, marshes, and uplands, and includes historic sites, lighthouses, hiking and biking trails, and six beaches across Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro, and Provincetown. Coast Guard Beach in Eastham consistently ranks among the best beaches in America.

Cape Cod restaurants and accommodations are also nationally renowned: the Beach House Grill in Chatham was named the best waterfront restaurant in America, the Candleberry Inn in Brewster was named the best bed and breakfast in America, and a Yarmouth home near the beach was listed among the best Vrbo rentals of 2026.

When asked why Cape Cod is so appealing to travelers year after year, Paul Niedzwiecki, CEO of the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, told Boston.com, “the Cape is so often associated with memories and traditions that involve friends and family and great weather and great beaches. I don’t think the secret sauce is much more complicated than that.”
