David Boucher, 48, is charged with first degree murder and is scheduled to appear in court on June 12 for a pretrial hearing, the DA said.
A Massachusetts man is accused of murdering a family member after he allegedly called police to report the crime, prosecutors said.
On Monday morning, David Boucher, 48, allegedly called police and claimed he had killed a relative inside a North Adams home, the office of the Berkshire District Attorney said in a press release.
North Adams police arrived to the home at 256 Walnut St. and found a man’s body inside, the DA said.
Boucher was arrested and charged with first degree murder, court records show.
There is no current danger to the public, the DA said.
Boucher was arraigned on Tuesday in Northern Berkshire District Court, where he pleaded not guilty, and is expected to make a court appearance on June 12 for a pretrial hearing, court records show. He was held without bail because of the severity of the charge he is facing, according to court records.
