A 19-year-old Lakeville man was fatally shot Monday night in Dorchester, authorities said.
Officers responded shortly after 7:30 p.m. to reports of a person shot near 115 Milton Ave., the Boston Police Department said in a community alert.
Officers found the victim, identified as Jalen J. Tavares, at 6 Seldon St., suffering from a gunshot wound, the department said.
Emergency medical personnel pronounced Tavares dead at the scene, police said.
No arrests have been made, and investigators have not identified a suspect, a BPD spokesperson told Boston.com.
The department’s Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting. Police are asking anyone with information to contact the unit at 617-343-4470.
As of Tuesday afternoon, there have been no updates in the investigation, the BPD spokesperson said.
