The North End landmark earned respectable marks from two visitors — and one unforgettable jalapeño reaction.

As World Cup visitors continue sampling Boston’s food scene, two Scottish friends visited Regina Pizzeria in the North End and came away impressed — though not entirely blown away by the experience.
In an Instagram video posted June 16, James Currie (@jameriqy) said an “actual Bostonian” recommended the famous pizza spot.
“This is wicked, man! Look at this,” Currie said while showing the interior of the longtime restaurant.
The pair ordered two 10-inch pizzas. Currie customized his with jalapeños, caramelized onions, and Regina sausage, while his friend Gio opted for a buffalo pizza.
The jalapeños made a particularly memorable impression on Currie. An on-screen caption noted he had “bit into the spiciest jalapeno I’ve ever eaten.”
“People are probably going to slate me for the toppings because they are a bit random,” he said. “But these jalapeños are real-ass jalapeños. Bro, you should have seen it, I was like crying.”
By the end of the meal, Currie had saved his final slice for Gio, who appeared less enthusiastic about his own pizza.
Still, both diners landed on favorable reviews. Gio gave his buffalo pizza a 7 out of 10, while Currie initially considered the same score before settling on a slightly higher mark.
“7.5,” he said.
While Regina’s might have scraped by with a passing grade from the two friends, the Scottish presence in Boston – also known as the Tartan Army – continues to earn high marks from locals, who are eager to welcome the fans to the city.
Scotland plays Morocco on June 19 for its final match at Boston Stadium.
