




















Jeffrey J. Holland, a lifelong resident of Canton and devoted educator, passed away on June 12, 2026, in Boston, Massachusetts, at the age of 44.
Born on October 23, 1981, in Boston, Massachusetts, he was the son of Laura Holland of Canton and the late John Holland. He was surrounded throughout his life by a large extended family, and he valued those bonds deeply. He carried his family with him in all that he did, and he remained especially close to the people who knew him best.
Jeffrey graduated from Boston College High School, where he began to show the character, discipline, and faith that would guide him throughout his life. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Fairfield University, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister at the school’s church and helped formulate the first retreat for his graduating class. Those experiences reflected his strong sense of service, leadership, and commitment to bringing people together in meaningful ways. He later received his master’s degree in education from Salem State University, further preparing him for a career dedicated to teaching and learning.
Jeffrey devoted his professional life to education, and he made a lasting difference in the lives of many children. He taught fifth grade in Boston Public Schools, most recently at the Sarah Roberts Elementary School (formerly the Charles Sumner School), where he was known for his kindness, patience, and genuine love for all of his students. He approached teaching with warmth and dedication, and he took great pride in helping young people grow with confidence. His students and colleagues alike will remember him as a caring educator who brought compassion and energy into the classroom each day.
Outside of work, Jeffrey lived a life filled with loyalty, friendship, and joy. He loved his friends and family dearly, and he treasured the time he spent with them. He was a lifelong resident of Canton and remained deeply connected to the community he called home. He also enjoyed traveling to Aruba, a place he loved so much that he made it part of his life each summer for five weeks. These trips brought him great happiness and became a cherished tradition.
Jeffrey also gave of himself through service beyond the classroom. He served as president of Habitat for Humanity in New Haven, Connecticut, reflecting his commitment to helping others and strengthening communities. His leadership and generosity were evident in the many ways he contributed his time and talents to causes that mattered to him. He believed in service, faith, and the importance of making a positive impact wherever he could.
He will be remembered for his kind heart, his devotion to his family and friends, his love of teaching, and the many lives he touched along the way. Jeffrey J. Holland lived with purpose and compassion, and he leaves behind a legacy of faith, service, and love that will continue to inspire those who knew him. He is survived by his mother, Laura Holland, his large extended family, his girlfriend Dana Kopec, and many friends, students, and colleagues who will miss him dearly.
