Police are investigating after uncovering human remains in Worcester this week.
The remains were found just after 1 p.m. Thursday in a wooded area near 4 Brandt Lane, a Worcester Police Department spokesperson said.
Police notified Worcester District Attorney Joseph Early’s office, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has “accepted the case,” the spokesperson said.
Officials have not yet determined a cause of death, as an autopsy must take place first.
Detectives are actively investigating the incident. No further information was immediately available.
