As World Cup excitement builds in Massachusetts, Kane’s Donuts is getting in on the action — one country-themed doughnut at a time.

The local chain announced that it will roll out different team-inspired doughnuts each week leading up to the tournament, starting with Haiti and Scotland ahead of the teams’ June 13 matchup at Boston Stadium, the tournament name for Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.

In a video posted to social media Tuesday, Kane’s framed the promotion as a fan showdown writin: “We decided to see which team would have more fans!”

The first round features two frosted doughnuts decorated in each country’s colors: Scotland’s blue-and-white flag and Haiti’s red-and-blue flag.

“I don’t know who’s gonna win,” a Kane’s employee said in the video. “Whether it’s gonna be Scotland or Haiti this week, but we’ll see.”

Kane’s has locations at 120 Lincoln Ave. in Saugus, 1575 Broadway in Saugus, and 90 Oliver St. in Boston. The shop said it plans to continue releasing new country-themed doughnuts throughout the tournament.
