Ibraim Matos, 37, faces a murder charge and other criminal charges, tied to a string of car crashes and the death of a woman in Mattapan, police said.

A Hyde Park man was arrested Saturday for an alleged carjacking incident that killed a woman in Mattapan, police said.

Ibraim Matos, 37, is expected to be charged with murder, carjacking, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in personal injury, the Boston Police Department announced on Sunday.

Police were called around 1:59 p.m. on Saturday, for a reported carjacking near 1466 Blue Hill Ave., BPD posted in a statement.

When police arrived, they found an unconscious woman lying on the ground. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Just up the road, police discovered a car crash involving a MBTA bus, along with a large crowd surrounding the car involved, police said.

Police approached the scene and found multiple bystanders restraining a man. Police later identified the man as Matos, BPD said.

According to investigators, the incident started when Matos and another vehicle hit one another in the intersection of Blue Hill Avenue and Woodhaven Street, police said.

Matos allegedly fled his damaged car and headed to a car wash where he “approached a female victim who was waiting at the car wash,” BPD wrote.

Matos forcibly removed the woman from her car and sped away, police said.

“After the carjacking, the suspect continued down Blue Hill Avenue driving at an accelerated rate of speed on the sidewalk where he eventually struck the victim before crashing into another vehicle at the intersection of Blue Hill Avenue and Fairhaven Street,” BPD wrote.

Matos allegedly fled the scene once again, and only stopped after he allegedly hit a MBTA bus near 1629 Blue Hill Ave., Boston police said.

“The suspect was then forcibly removed from the vehicle and restrained by several community members until officers arrived at the scene,” police said.

In a video obtained by WCVB, Mantos is shown bleeding from his ear as a crowd of bystanders yell at him. 

“You killed somebody,” one person yelled in the video posted to social media.

Later on Saturday evening, police arrested a second man who allegedly entered a crime scene near 1617 Blue Hill Ave., police said.

“While guarding the crime scene for a fatal motor vehicle collision that had occurred hours earlier, officers were alerted that an unknown male had entered the taped off crime scene near the intersection of Fairway Street and Blue Hill Avenue,” police said.

The man appeared to be laughing while recording the crime scene, according to police. Police approached the man before he ran and dropped an “unknown liquid” in the middle of the crime scene, BPD said.

“The suspect continued to run around the area while laughing and video recording. After evading several officers, the suspect was eventually apprehended on the median of Blue Hill Avenue,” BPD wrote.

Police eventually arrested Robert Monestime, 21. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of disturbing the peace and interfering with a police officer, police said.

The MBTA did not respond to a request for comment on Sunday night.

Attorney information for Monestime and Matos was not available as of Sunday night.
