Amelia’s Taqueria has permanently closed its Allston location after 14 years in business.

The Brighton Avenue restaurant closed May 1. A note posted on the storefront and shared on X by @DarylDonatelli thanked customers for their support over the years.

“We have decided to permanently close our Allston location as of May 1, 2026,” the note said. “We appreciate your support for the past 14 years.”

The announcement directed customers to Amelia’s remaining Greater Boston locations. According to the restaurant’s website, the taqueria still operates locations on Beacon Street, Boylston Street, and Assembly Row.

A staff member at the Beacon Street location confirmed the Allston closure.

The closure follows a difficult few years for the taqueria. In 2022, a three-alarm fire tore through a stretch of businesses on Brighton Avenue, forcing Amelia’s to temporarily shut down. The restaurant reopened in May 2025.

Amelia’s Allston location was at 180 Brighton Ave.
