The hotel was lauded at the 22nd Annual Hospitality Design Awards.
A new boutique lifestyle hotel in Allston is turning heads for its design.
The Atlas Hotel, a 246-room hotel that opened earlier this year, recently won in the category of Lifestyle Hotel Public Space in the 22nd Annual Hospitality Design Awards by Hospitality Design magazine, honoring the year’s best achievements in design worldwide. There were nearly 1,200 project and product submissions.
The hotel is located at the entrance of Harvard’s Enterprise Research Campus (ERC) and steps from Harvard Business School. Its public spaces are inspired by sociologist Ray Oldenburg’s concept of “third places,” or social hubs that exist between one’s home and work.

The “central pulse” of the hotel’s public space is the living room lobby, an all-day lounge space, according to the team. The lobby’s natural materials — wood, stone, textile, and metal — bring warmth to the shared space, which features curated works from Boston-affiliated contemporary artists.

“We are honored to be recognized by Hospitality Design for our creative approach in shaping The Atlas as a dynamic gathering place rooted in culture and community,” said Arnaldo Almonte, managing director of the Atlas Hotel, in a statement. “This award is a testament to the flawless execution of developer Tishman Speyer’s unique vision for the hotel by INC Architecture & Design and Marlon Blackwell Architects.”

The hotel also has a fitness center, meeting spaces, restaurant Ama at The Atlas, and Foxglove Terrace, a panoramic rooftop bar. Take a look inside.
