Last February Apple launched the Vision Pro, ushering in a new era of “spatial computing.” Vision Pro represents a landmark moment in “immersive” computing, delivering Apple’s application ecosystem on what could be considered the most advanced standalone computing device to date.
In March, we announced support for Omnissa Horizon® and the Omnissa Workspace ONE® Productivity apps on Apple Vision Pro. This enabled a secure productivity experience through Workspace ONE Tunnel, Workspace ONE Web, Workspace ONE Boxer, and Workspace ONE Content, as well as remote access to virtual desktops via Omnissa Horizon. You can learn more about that here.
Initially Apple Vision Pro shipped without mobile device management (MDM) support; however, with visionOS 1.1 Apple Vision Pro supported user-based device enrollment and basic device management. With the release of Apple visionOS 2.0, Apple now supports Automated Device Enrollment for Apple Vision Pro devices and extensive device management controls.
We are excited to announce that customers can now enroll and manage Apple Vision Pro devices in Workspace ONE UEM UAT environments.
The following capabilities are available in tech preview:
You can test out these items now in tech preview, and they will soon be available in Workspace ONE UEM production environments. This list represents our initial rollout, but we will continue to deliver additional functionality for visionOS devices over the coming releases of Workspace ONE UEM. This work will include making all visionOS profiles available in the Workspace ONE UEM console, adding more MDM commands from the console and declarative device management support, and assigning applications via the UEM console.
