We are pleased to announce that Omnissa has been recognized as a Leader for the second consecutive year in the 2024 Gartner® Magic Quadrant for Desktop as a Service (DaaS).* At Omnissa, we believe this placement in the Magic Quadrant acknowledges our commitment to empowering employees to do their best work from anywhere through smart, seamless, and secure experiences.

Omnissa Horizon® Cloud Service is a desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) that offers various solutions, enabling the flexibility and agility needed to respond to the ever-changing business landscape. Horizon Cloud pairs the virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) — managed by Omnissa — with managed cloud infrastructure services from hyperscalers like Microsoft, AWS, and Google to deliver a complete DaaS solution. The service can integrate with existing on-premises and cloud-based systems for hybrid delivery, allowing IT admins to focus on managing desktops and applications rather than the underlying infrastructure.

Omnissa named a Gartner Magic Quadrant Leader

Gartner named Omnissa as a Leader for our “Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision.” We believe the below key benefits of Horizon Cloud helped us receive this recognition.

  • Horizon Cloud supports the advanced needs of enterprises, including hybrid deployments that span on-premises and multi-cloud environments, all managed from a single pane of glass. This flexibility allows enterprises to place workloads wherever they are needed, helping optimize performance and resource allocation.
  • With Horizon Cloud’s integration of Omnissa Intelligence, organizations gain a view of their digital employee experience (DEX). The built-in functionality allows customers to leverage comprehensive DEX capabilities directly within Horizon Cloud. This approach allows organizations to better monitor, analyze, and optimize the employee experience from a single platform.
  • The Omnissa Blast Extreme protocol enhances virtual desktop and app deployments by delivering high-definition, responsive displays — even for demanding 3D and 8K content. It matches local PC clarity and performance, elevating the end-user experience. Additionally, Blast optimizes audio and video for productivity tools like Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, and Zoom, allowing a high-quality experience that helps ensure smooth collaboration.
  • For our healthcare customers, Horizon Cloud supports Epic, a leader in electronic healthcare records, to meet the specialized needs of the healthcare industry. Horizon Cloud helps healthcare organizations enhance data security, meet regulatory compliance, and improve patient care by supporting the most demanding clinical applications and workflows.

Horizon Cloud’s continued innovation brings value to customers

Omnissa is continually enhancing Horizon Cloud to deliver maximum value to our customers. Our recent integrations with Amazon WorkSpaces Core and Windows 365 enable organizations to leverage flexible, scalable, and secure virtual desktop solutions that align with their business needs.

Omnissa App Volumes now supports persistent desktops, allowing applications to be updated independent of the operating system. This reduces the number of OS images that IT teams need to manage. The Apps on Demand feature further optimizes this process by delivering applications only when users request them, helping minimize resource use and enhancing efficiency. Organizations using Microsoft Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, or Amazon WorkSpaces can now leverage App Volumes’ persistent desktop capabilities for streamlined application delivery and management. With a single console, IT teams can manage applications across various hyperscaler environments, significantly lowering the costs associated with application deployment.

Horizon Cloud’s recent updates also demonstrate a strong focus on streamlining administrative workflows and enhancing operational efficiency. Notable improvements include more intelligent application management with automated VM scanning and organized grouping by source, simplified maintenance workflows through granular login mode controls, and enhanced image management capabilities that enable consistent desktop deployment across Horizon 8 environments. These management-centric enhancements reduce administrative overhead and empower IT teams with greater visibility and control over their virtual desktop infrastructure, ultimately enabling them to deliver a more reliable end-user computing experience
