Federal compliance with Omnissa Horizon and Workspace ONE
Cameron Clack · 2026-06-23 · via Omnissa

Federal agencies face a dual challenge of modernizing digital work environments while upholding some of the most rigorous security and compliance standards in the world. As missions evolve, workforces become more distributed, and Zero Trust becomes the standard, leaders can no longer afford to view compliance and agility as competing priorities. Omnissa helps federal organizations move faster with confidence while delivering secure, compliant, digital workspaces designed for today’s operational realities. Recent advancements across Omnissa Horizon and Workspace ONE reinforce this commitment, enabling agencies to meet elevated compliance standards while supporting on‑premises, cloud, and classified environments across the full spectrum of federal workloads.

FedRAMP High: Expanding secure access

Omnissa has reached a significant milestone with Workspace ONE by achieving FedRAMP High Authorization to Operate (ATO) delivered by Omnissa Government Services, as listed on the FedRAMP Marketplace. Omnissa can provide federal agencies validated assurance that the platform meets the government’s most stringent cloud security requirements. This authorization enables Workspace ONE to support highly sensitive data and mission‑critical use cases, backed by rigorous security controls, continuous monitoring, and operational transparency required at the FedRAMP High baseline.

Beyond the achievement itself, Omnissa has expanded its FedRAMP authorized offerings to give agencies greater flexibility and accessibility. These new FedRAMP High offerings incorporate core elements of Omnissa Workspace ONE UEM, Omnissa Access, and Omnissa Intelligence, delivering essential identity, access, and insights capabilities with lower pricing thresholds and reduced minimum quantities, making secure adoption more attainable across programs of all sizes. At a time when many endpoint management providers remain limited to FedRAMP Moderate authorizations, Omnissa continues to help agencies meet more stringent security and compliance requirements without sacrificing operational simplicity or scalability. Together, this expanded portfolio can enable agencies to standardize endpoint and access management while accelerating compliance at scale.

Secure workload delivery for NIPR and SIPR environments

While device and access compliance is foundational, federal missions also require secure delivery of applications and desktops across classified and unclassified environments. Omnissa Horizon and Workspace ONE are purpose‑built to meet these requirements, supporting NIPR (Non-classified Internet Protocol Router Network) and SIPR (Secret Internet Protocol Router Network) workloads in on‑premises deployments where agencies require strict network segmentation, data residency, and operational control. This architecture enables federal organizations to modernize end‑user computing while preserving established security boundaries and accreditation models.

In these high‑assurance environments, Omnissa enables agencies to extend non-persistent or persistent virtual desktops, unified endpoint management, and access management into isolated or sovereignty‑constrained infrastructures. This approach allows organizations to maintain full control over data, operations, and compliance while benefiting from consistent policy enforcement, identity‑driven access, and centralized visibility. Together, Horizon and Workspace ONE provide a secure, compliant foundation for delivering mission‑critical applications and desktops across NIPR and SIPR environments without forcing tradeoffs between security, usability, and operational efficiency.

Extending compliance to the cloud with Horizon

As federal agencies adopt hybrid operating models, many are looking to extend secure desktop and application delivery into the cloud without introducing new compliance or operational complexity. Omnissa Horizon supports this transition through integration with multiple clouds and hyperscalers, including AWS WorkSpaces Core which can support FedRAMP High/Impact Level 6 workloads, enabling agencies to leverage cloud infrastructure while maintaining the familiar Horizon policies and security constructs they already trust.

This approach allows agencies to deploy virtual desktops in a cloud environment that aligns with federal compliance objectives, while preserving consistency across on‑premises and cloud workloads. Horizon provides a unified management experience, centralized policy enforcement, and consistent user access regardless of where desktops are hosted. Combining Horizon cloud offerings with on-premises deployments with hypervisors like vSphere or Nutanix, agencies can accelerate time to deployment, support surge or remote workforce scenarios, and maintain flexibility all while operating within established security and governance frameworks.

Together, these capabilities enable federal organizations to adopt cloud services on their terms, extending compliance‑ready virtual desktops beyond the data center without compromising visibility, control, or mission assurance.

From authorization to operational impact

As federal compliance requirements continue to evolve, agencies need technology platforms designed to operate at the highest levels of assurance without limiting choice or agility. With FedRAMP High ATO environment for Workspace ONE, flexible Horizon deployment options spanning on‑premises and cloud environments, and support for NIPR, SIPR, and hybrid workloads, Omnissa delivers a unified, autonomous workspace platform built for real‑world federal missions.  As federal mandates continue to evolve, Omnissa Horizon and Omnissa Workspace ONE give agencies a secure, compliant, and mission‑ready autonomous workspace foundation. Together, they enable continuous compliance, resilient access, and operational efficiency empowering agencies to meet today’s requirements while preparing for tomorrow’s challenges.

To see these capabilities in action, agencies are encouraged to engage their Omnissa Federal sales team to evaluate requirements and begin a trial aligned to their specific compliance and operational needs.
