Meta recently announced a slew of updates to their business focused efforts around eXtended Reality (XR), including official support for the Omnissa XR native kiosk mode launcher – Workspace ONE XR Hub!
Omnissa and Meta have been technology partners since 2019, initially with Oculus for Business, then Quest for Business and now Horizon managed services. This recent announcement is part of a broader joint engineering roadmap between Meta and Omnissa.
Omnissa Workspace ONE XR Hub provides a custom enterprise experience and advanced security controls. XR devices are managed using Workspace ONE UEM and Intelligent Hub while XR Hub works in conjunction with Intelligent Hub to provide a great employee experience in XR.
XR Hub provides a locked down, customizable enterprise experience, a unified app catalog, single sign-on into the headset and into applications, multi-factor authentication, shared use, mixed reality options, XR streaming and much more.
Customers with XR Hub 25.03 (coming soon) and Meta Horizon OS v74 can configure XR Hub in a native kiosk mode, to lock users into a simple, secure and intuitive experience.
Organizations have many different devices to manage, not just XR devices. Imagine if IT had a different management system for every different device platform? No one has the time (or money) for that. Workspace ONE UEM provides a single management solution for all devices in an organization.
Meta Horizon managed services is a requirement from Meta for any Meta Quest device being used for business. Meta Horizon managed services enables out of the box enrollment for Quest devices into your organization’s existing device management solution.
Meta Horizon managed services has device management capabilities but may not integrate fully with your existing IT infrastructure. Meta Horizon managed services may also not be certified to manage devices in your organization.
Meta Horizon managed services does not provide a customizable employee experience, so it's critical to use both Meta Horizon managed services and Workspace ONE UEM for your deployment.
Using Workspace ONE UEM and Meta Horizon managed services together gives you:
The combination of Meta Horizon managed services and Workspace ONE UEM enables a seamless and automated configuration of Meta Quest devices. A Meta Quest user simply turns on the device, selects Meta Horizon managed services setup, enters their credentials, and the device can automatically be enrolled into Workspace ONE UEM.
Workspace ONE UEM then automatically configures and secures the device, pushes applications and content to the device, and sets up the device ready for use. IT admins can then manage Meta Quest devices directly from the Workspace ONE UEM console.
With XR Hub, administrators can configure a customizable experience with a unified application catalog, ensuring users can only access the applications and content authorized by their organization.
IT admins will need to set up Horizon managed services by adding Workspace ONE UEM as a 3rd party MDM and create a 3rd party enrollment from within the Horizon managed services console.
The 3rd party enrollment allows IT admins to set specific Workspace ONE enrollment parameters.

To deploy XR Hub as your native custom launcher on Meta Quest, we’ll be updating the guidance here on TechZone when XR Hub 25.03 is released.
For customers deploying Meta Quest devices alongside other XR devices, it’s important that those other device vendors officially support your chosen UEM/MDM product. Workspace ONE UEM is the only product that is fully supported across all major XR device vendors including Apple Vision Pro – giving Omnissa customers maximum breadth of device choice.
