Latest innovations highlighted at Omnissa ONE global events

  • October 1, 2024

Today Omnissa is wrapping up our very first customer conference in the US. The energy and engagement have been fantastic, and we’ve received great feedback on our innovations and product updates. We’re excited to announce several product innovations that reflect our continued investment in the Omnissa Platform and our focus as a standalone company.

At the forefront of these innovations is Omni AI Assistant which is designed to transform how admins interact with IT environments. Additional highlights include our modern SaaS architecture for Workspace ONE® UEM for greater scalability and resiliency, plus our Horizon® 8 2406 innovations for persistent virtual desktops to simplify management and reduce total cost of ownership.

We are also sharing updates on Apple declarative device management, DEX Playbooks to increase helpdesk efficiency, our upcoming Vulnerability Defense capabilities, and next-gen Trust Network.

Our continued investment in the full Omnissa Platform brings more AI-driven innovation, cost of ownership improvements, and security and technology updates. These outcomes are possible because common services such as data, workflow, AI and ML, and identity now work across the Omnissa Platform, which is built on our Workspace ONE and Horizon product families.

We’re thrilled to share these innovations that further our mission to enable smarter IT, deliver seamless employee experiences, and offer proactive security measures that make digital workspaces better for everyone — including IT teams.

Featured updates

The following updates reflect a combination of upcoming enhancements and recently launched features, continuing our commitment to delivering innovative solutions across the Omnissa Platform.

Omni AI Assistant

Coming soon in beta, Omni AI will bring generative AI and large language models to the Omnissa Platform, providing natural language support for in-product help and data analysis across UEM, Horizon, Intelligence, and Omnissa Connect consoles. This marks a significant step toward our vision of the autonomous workspace that is self-configuring, self-healing, and self-securing. Our go-forward AI strategy will drive that vision with four stages: “alert” which we do today via Insights and Guided RCA;  “assist” via Omni AI Assistant; “advise” for suggested remediations and optimizations; and “autonomous” configuration, management, and security.

Horizon 2406 and innovations for persistent virtual desktops

Supporting persistent desktops is simpler and has less total cost of ownership now with App Volumes Apps on Demand support for persistent virtual desktops, UEM support for persistent desktops and Windows multi-user, and ongoing DEX for Horizon enhancements.

UEM modern architecture

Our new modern SaaS architecture for Workspace ONE UEM is generally available and rolling out to shared SaaS customers now. In addition to allowing greater scalability and resiliency, this architecture supports many of our newest UEM innovations, such as Windows update support, Android Management API (AMAPI), resource delivery improvements, and more.

Apple device depth and breadth

We recently rolled out support for Apple’s declarative device management framework, with support for software update enforcement and for Platform SSO. In combination with other Omnissa Platform capabilities such as Freestyle Orchestrator and Omnissa Intelligence, these updates offer a strong combination of depth and breadth for Apple devices.

DEX Playbooks

Featuring step-by-step instructions and feedback analysis for helpdesk or first-level IT staff, DEX Playbooks increase helpdesk efficiency. Playbooks are going into limited availability soon.

Vulnerability Defense

Coming in beta in the first half of 2025, Vulnerability Defense will enable customers to speed threat assessment and remediation by correlating configuration, OS, and app vulnerabilities to endpoints in UEM, and then streamline remediation with Freestyle Orchestrator. Vulnerability Defense will use a bring-your-own vulnerability feed model.

Next-gen Trust Network

We are adding support for the continuous access evaluation protocol (CAEP) industry standard. This will enable simpler and more powerful sharing of compliance and posture assessment data with other security tools when making access decisions. Our integrations will include Okta and Thales, with more on the way.

The strategy behind each of our four solutions — Virtual Desktops & Apps, Unified Endpoint Management, Digital Employee Experience, and Security & Compliance — continues to drive these and other innovations.
